Long-Term Care Administrator’s Week: Mary Warnock

March 13, 2025

Mary Warnock, Executive Director at South Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation, holds a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Shawnee State University. With 16 years in healthcare, Mary has dedicated her career to enhancing the lives of those in her care.

Initially serving as the Director of Rehabilitation, she had the privilege of making a significant impact on the residents’ lives. However, her desire to expand her influence and take her career to the next level led her to seek new opportunities. Her goal was to continue advancing her professional development while finding ways to better serve both residents and Care Team members. Mary’s passion for working with the geriatric population comes from her deep compassion and respect for older adults. Growing up in the county, she has a personal connection to the community she serves, and it is an honor for her to support the residents who are an integral part of it.

Despite the challenges that healthcare faces, Mary remains motivated by the belief that the residents are like family. She and her team are committed to making their home a place of comfort, joy, and thriving. In a time of uncertainty, knowing that they can offer a sense of security and support to their residents keeps her focused on the mission.

The most rewarding aspect of Mary’s role is seeing the positive impact her team has on the lives of residents. Whether it’s celebrating small progress or receiving heartfelt gratitude from family members, these moments remind Mary of the meaningful difference they are making. It is these interactions that make her work so fulfilling and drive her to continue serving with compassion and dedication.
